Context-Based Services
Create New Value and Drive Revenue
CONTEXT DRIVES NEW SERVICES
Aegis Mobility's innovative Context-Based-Service platform extends the existing capabilities of location-based infrastructrue to add subscriber contextual intelligence to the network. Adding contextual awareness to the control and switching of media sessions, data, SMS and MMS, and voice, allows the opeator to provide a more valuable service while protecting subscriber privacy. Context enables a level of functionality that goes beyond simply presenting relevant content based on driving. For example: real-time location knowledge such as proximity to fixed places, notifications for entering or exiting a zone, or APIs to enable applications to utilze different subscriber policies for management of data, text, and voice.

WHAT IS CONTEXT?
Context is unique to each individual… what they are doing, where they are, and when. It is a function of personal preference combined with activity, location, and time.
For a driving-related application such as DriveAssist, four context states are used:
- Driving
- Stationary
- Emergency
- Passenger
The delivery of text, data, and voice to the subscriber's mobile handset when driving is based on either business or parental policy rules.
